Turning Point

The bullet aimed at one great man is a warning aimed at us all.

Charlie Kirk, the remarkable, happy warrior, friend, and founder of Turning Point USA, was gunned down today.

Let that sentence sink in.

Not because you agree or disagree with him. Not because you like his politics or despise them. But because the idea of political speech in America now often comes with the risk of a bullet.

This can't become our new normal. The America worth saving isn't about always agreeing—it’s about being able to disagree without fear.

For years, we’ve endured “cancel culture,” where reputations, jobs, and careers are ruined with a hashtag or a viral clip. That was bad enough. But now, when a bullet becomes the new form of cancel culture, our nation is on the edge. The silencing of dissent is no longer just digital — it’s deadly.

This isn't about guns. It's about politics. When violence replaces discussion, when assassination replaces debate, democracy doesn’t just wobble. It collapses. The American experiment, though imperfect as always, was built on one core idea: that ideas, even if some find them distasteful, can be challenged without bloodshed.

The Founders feared enemies overseas, like redcoats marching and foreign powers trying to crush liberty before it took hold. But they understood, as we must now acknowledge, that the greatest threat would always come from within. Not Russia. Not China. Us.

And here we are.

We’ve reached a point where politics seems less like a contest of ideas and more like a war of extermination. America’s great experiment in self-government won’t be ended by a foreign army invading our shores. It will be ended by the slow, ugly realization that we destroyed ourselves from within.

This cannot be allowed.

Republics aren’t eternal. They depend on people like Charlie Kirk deciding they’re worth defending with words, not weapons. It’s past time for every political leader, activist, media personality, and all of us to pull this nation back from the brink. Because if we don’t, we’ll look back on this dark moment not as the warning that saved us but as the turning point that doomed us.
